I love shopping!

I simply love shopping but really can't afford it often. I love bargains and clearance. My loving husband took me to Michael's and Hobby Lobby this morning. These stores are an hour away from home and he had to be to work at 2:45 this evening. So he didn't get to enjoy the morning much.
I was excited to have the 50% off coupons for Michael's. I got a set of die cuts for my cuttlebug and I gave Jody one of the coupon's (I hope it's okay to print off 2 coupons) so he could get 50% off of a clear stamp set for me. I'm so badly wanting the Fiskars Treading Waters punch but so far can't find it instock. I've went twice with 50% off coupon in hand but haven't been lucky enough to get it yet. I was going to get the Crop-a-dile 2 Big Bite today but I just couldn't see me using it enough to buy it. Even though I do complain that I don't use eyelets anymore because I'm afraid of waking Jacey up. I usually get to scrapbook at night so she is normally asleep.
I got some cute wooden stamps, clear stamps, acyrlic block and alot of ribbon and some rhinestones from the $1 bin. I can't pass up a $1 bin. Jacey is as bad as I am, she got about 10 things in the $1 bin.
At Hobby Lobby the packaged paper was 50% off so I got a cute pack called "My Mind's Eye". It's patterned paper and so cute. I think it has 180 pages. The only time I buy paper is when it's 50% off. I bought a set of Quick cuts scalloped flowers dies. They were $24.99 and I used my 40% off coupon on them. I wasn't sure if I could use them with my cuttlebug but they worked just fine. I bought 3 embossing folders also.
Well after all of that I'm broke again but atleast I have some new scrapin' supplies to get me through til next payday. ;o)

I'm so thankful it's Friday!

It has been a busy week at work. Wal-mart never slows down. We are getting ready to set Back To School. Also there is a scrapbooking reset in the craft dept. coming down. There is alot of scrapbooking clearance right now. I can't wait to see the new scrapbooking supplies.
I finally found some time to work on the 2 Sketches 4 You challenge. This week is Kazan's Sketch 3. They are giving away a set of Sakura Gelly Roll Metallic Pens to one lucky card maker. So go check them out and play along.
Here is my card.

I've been tagged!

My new blogging friend Lorraine Robertson has decided to tag me. So now I have to answer 5 questions & pass it on. Here goes.

1. What was happening 10 years ago:
I had only been married 3 years then. I had just started working for Wal-mart. Everything was pretty easy then, no real bills to speak of & not alot of responsibilities then. Boy how time changes everything. ;)

2. Name 5 things to do today:
Make supper, wash some clothes, get Jacey in the tub for a bath, scrapbook alittle & call hubby to see how his evening of patrolling is going. Hubby is a police officer and we are on opposite shifts so most days the only time we talk is on the phone. :(

3. Snacks I enjoy:
Chips and cheese dip. Yogart and granola.

4. Things I would do if I were a millionaire:
Pay off all of the bills. Pay for my moms house. Put up money for Jacey's future. Build a house with a huge craft room for me and Jacey. She is just now getting into crafts and she keeps sneaking off with my supplies.

5. Places I have lived:
This is easy, I've only lived in 2 places. For almost 34 years I lived in Pound, VA and the last 10 months I've lived in Norton, VA.

Now that I'm finished sharing, it's time to pass it on to some other lovely crafters. Here goes, Kath &Kazan Sorry girls but I didn't know who else to pick. Still new to blogging & just now meeting people and making new friends.

2 Sketches 4 You Challenge & Caardvarks Challenge

I've entered this card into 2 challenges {Thank you Laura for letting me know about the pink challenge at Caardvarks}.
I did alot of different things with this card. I stamped pink ink on a piece of 4x6 photo paper. Then I stamped the flowers all over with black ink. I used my white marker for the stamped flower on the black cardstock. I stamped the tag image, then stamped the "Just a Note" on the tag. I used white marker to "ink" the edges of the card and to put dots here and there. I also used stitching rub-ons, alittle ribbon and ta-da! I think it turned out nice. Go check out 2 Sketches 4 You & Caardvarks They rock!

2 Sketches 4 You challenge

This is my attempt at the beautiful sketch by Kazan. Her sketches are so adorable. I flipped the items from the left to the right for my card because I wanted to show the little monkey in the train car. I hope that's okay for the challenge.

Caardvarks Challenge

This is the card I made for the Drink Up challenge at Caardvarks.

Altered Keyring Holder

I had this wooden keyring holder stowed away in a tote for years and never used it. So when I came across it a couple of weeks ago I decided that I was going to have to do something with it. This is what I came up with. I painted it white, then pink and painted the posts green. I mog podged the paper down. I used the plantin cartridge to cut out the letters. I put them on pop dots for a better effect. Then I just embellished til my hearts desire. Ofcourse you can tell I love ribbon. I cut out a princess crown and attached it to ribbon to hang from one of the post. I think I'll make some really cute tags to hang from the posts too.
Let me know what you think about it.
Take care,
Christy

Mother's Day Layout

This is my mother's day layout for 2008. I love the green, blue and brown together. Usually when I think of blue I think of a boy's page but I think this turned out very "girly". Have a great day!
