Some New Layouts

Here's some new layouts that I've done recently. It's been awhile since the scrappy bug has bitten me. I've been into altering picture frames and working on mini albums too long. It's time to get back into layouts. That what I've spent all this money on these scrapping supplies for right??? :)

ALTERED WOODEN PHOTO FRAME

Shame on me...it's been forever since I've posted anything on my blog. How time flies. I'm still scrapbooking and crafting. One thing that has slowed me down some is I got a Nook e-reader so I do spend some extra time reading now. I like surfing the net too for free e-books. I have gotten into making mini albums alot lately. I love watching the YouTube videos of everyone's mini albums. I get such inspiration from them. I'm drooling over all the new products that came out during this CHA. I can't wait to get my hands on some of Marion Smith's new Prima Line. I so wish I had a Local Scrapbook Store near me so I could actually look at new stuff. It's not the same looking at something online.
Anyway I've had 3 wooden photo frames for probably 2 or 3 years. I knew I wanted to alter them somehow just never really could decide how. Well last week I came across a blog that had a cheap and easy way to create crackle paint effect without using crackle paint but using white glue instead. So I decided that this technique would be perfect for my frames.
This is what I've come up with.

The other 2 frames I'm going to go primitive with them. Base coat brown and top coat antique white. I haven't started them yet. I will post pics whenever I get them finished.
I hope you have a scrap happy day!!! :)

MY NEWEST LAYOUT

I did this layout for a scraplift challenge in one of the groups I'm in on CafeMom. Ofcourse it has my favorite flowers on it...Prima!!! It's really girly and has alot of pink. I just love it. :)
I used two grungeboard florishes on here. I painted them white, then used crackle medium on them, then painted them pink. After all the crackling was over I painted over top of that with a glitter shine. I made the big pink flower beside of the picture. I used my heat gun on silk flower petals until they started to shrink and curl. Then layered them all together and put a brad through them and sprayed with Starburst Spray and some glimmer mist. I love the way it turned out. There was a casualty though. My heat gun burnt out. I was hoping it had just gotten too hot and after cooling would start back but sadly no. So I guess I have to go back to the Ranger heat gun until I can get to Hobby Lobby with a 40% off coupon. :(

I've been playing around with a wonderful product called Magical Mica's made by Linda's Stamp Gang. I made these cute 8 layer flowers then colored them with the mica's. I love the shimmer that the mica's give these cute flowers. Ofcourse pictures don't do the shimmer justice. You have to see it in person to truly experience that beautiful shimmer. I love this product.

Jacey and Mamaw

Here's a layout I did of Jacey and my mom. This picture was taken on Jacey's 6th birthday.
