Here's a new little piece of mixed media art I made this morning. I used the cover of a composition notebook as my base. I was inspired to make this after watching a video by Maremi SmallArt. She used packaging to make some tags and created beautiful works of art. So I followed her lead and used notebook cover for my base and scrap paper for my background. I was extremely excited to use for the first time IamRoses flowers. I finally after all these years of crafting made myself order some of these beautiful flowers. I forced myself to use them. I love buying pretty Prima flowers and put them on a shelf never using them because they are so beautiful and I feel like I have to find the perfect project to use them on but never seem to find anything to justify using them on. My New Years resolution is to start using my crafting supplies instead of creating a museum to my favorite things. Does anyone else have this problem? Anyway I love the way this turned out. It felt good to get in the craft room and just create something today. Hope everyone has a great day!!! Go create something.

You & Me Layout
I found some time to scrapbook. Here's the sketch and list requirements for the Scrap Our Stash November challenge.
From List #1 I used all of them, Glitz, Glitter and Grey.
From List #2 I used Gold spray on my background paper.
From List #3 I used a blue index card.
I also included my layout in the Scrap The Girls November Challenge. They have a beautiful sketch that also works with my layout. I kind of flipped it from left to right.

I used modeling paste and a homemade stencil to give some texture to my background. I used Lindy's stamp gang spray to give the background paper a gold shimmer. I also used Lindy's stamp gang spray and watered down gesso for splatters on the background paper. The "You&Me" title is wood. I painted it with white gesso and covered it in glitter. I used ALOT of glitter on this layout. There's glitter all over me and my work table. My daughter says glitter is the herpies of crafting!!! LOL :)

Christmas 2014 Layout
Here's my newest layout. These pictures are from Jacey's 2014 Christmas. She was so excited about the Super Loom for making braclets. My daughter does amazing work with her braclets. She's super talented. This was also the year that I made her a Minecraft blanket. She's so into that game!!! She builds some of the prettiest houses you've ever seen.
I'm entering this layout in Lasting Memories November Triangles Challenge. My christmas trees are the pretty little triangles. :)
I'm also including this layout in Lindy's Stamp Gang November Color Challenge
These are the colors that I had to include atleast 2 of in my layout.
I used 5 Lindy's Stamp Gang products on my layout. I used Starburst Spray Ramblin' Rose Pink & Lucky Shamrock Green on the Holly Berry picture frame. I used Bells of Ireland Green on the white layered paper. I used a swirl stencil and brushed on the spray to get the cute swirly background. I used Moon Shadow Mist in Buccaneer Bronze on the cardboard layer. I also used Moon Glow's Starburst Stains in Black Orchid Silver to outline the triangle trees. I couldn't find this one on the website to link it. So I'm not sure if they are still making this one or not. Mine has a dauber top. I love using it on canvas work and making splats with it.
I had alot of fun making this layout. I love that it's not all in traditional christmas colors.

My layout for My Creative Sketches
Ok I've really been bitten again by the scrapbooking bug. I can't believe I took such a long break from doing something that I love!!!! Here's another layout that I've completed. This picture is soooo cute to me. Jacey was taking a selfie while Jody was pumping gas. She didn't realize that he photo bombed her. :)
This one is for a challenge at My Creative Sketches.
Here is the sketch that I had to follow.
If you want to join in on the sketch challenge you have til tomorrow to get your layout linked to their page.

My new most favorite layout!!!!
I decided to join in on the layout challenge over at More Than Words Blog.
This was the Board that had to inspire you.
I kind of dreaded trying this layout challenge because I didn't know how I was going to come up with a layout that includes either the quote or the things involved in the quote. I was overthinking it!!! I absolutely LOVE how my layout turned out.
I used modeling paste and one of my favorite stencils to give a little background texture to the layout.
The challenge included using an Inspiration word which was Special. I used the word as the title of the layout. Also my daughter ofcourse is very special to me. The creative part of the challenge was to either use the quote "Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue" or to use things on your layout that are old, new, borrowed or blue. I used 3 of the elements. The Prima flowers are old. The paper and the picture is new. There is a "blue-ish" color in the paper.
Golf
My husband absolutely loves playing golf. At the same time he hates to play golf. He gets so frustrated when playing. I asked him one time after he had gotten frustrated after hitting a bad shot "Why do you play golf if it gets you so aggravated?". His response was simple "I love the game". So I guess he loves to hate it :)
This is my entry for The ScrapRoom Blog's November JumpStart Sketch Challenge.

My entry for the November "Squares" Layout Challenge at Lasting Memories Scrapbooking
Hi everyone!!! I've got my layout finished. I'm going to be entering it in the November "Squares" Challenge at Lasting Memories Scrapbooking.
My daughter has quickly become the "Selfie" Queen. She will be a teenager next month so I guess it's about the right time for the selfies to start. :)
I haven't scrapbooking in around 5 years. I've missed it so much. It feels so good to be back at it.
Got my scrappin groove back!!!!
It's been WAY too long since I've been here. I kind of lost my scrapbooking groove for a few years. I've found it again though. I just finished my first layout!!! I'm trying to enter it in a scrapbooking layout challenge but having some snags getting it uploaded :(
I have been crafting in the last few years though. I've fallen in love with mixed media. I love working in my art journal and making canvas art. My daughter does too and she has made some amazing chalk pastel drawings. I have to familiarize myself with blogging again and as soon as I remember how to upload pictures on here I will share some of our work with you. Just trying to get back into the swing of things with the computer. I have to get a new computer. This one is so old that nearly everything I open says my browser isn't supported or videos won't play or some pages simply won't load. So I'm keeping my eyes open for hopefully a good deal on Black Friday for on a new home computer.
Well I guess that's all for now. Everyone have a great day!!! :)

Been a long time since I blogged :)
Well I guess it's time to kick this blog back into use. I've kind of lost the scrapbooking mojo. It's been a couple of years since I've done a layout. I miss it but at the same time I don't. Jacey has hit the age where she doesn't want her picture taken obsessively like I used to. No activity could go on without a camera in her face so I guess I'm to blame for her hatred of having her picture taken. :0) One day I'm sure she will appreciate the pictures I did take of her but for now she doesn't. The camera comes out and the eyes start rolling and the shewing starts. So now I only snap the important stuff and her being goofy. She always willing to have her picture taken if she is getting to act like a goofball. :)
Anyway my new hobby is sewing. I've always dabbled in sewing here and there. I could sew a hem if needed or repair a tear but I had never really sat down and decided "hey I'm going to make a purse today" until now. Thanks to Jody, his mom and sisters I'm the proud new owner of a brand spanking new Brothers sewing machine. Thank you all for the wonderful birthday present. Makes turning 40 alittle better.
I've sewn a few simple tote bags for Jacey to put her lunchbox in. I've also made a fall purse. It turned out alot better than I thought it would. Yesterday I made a case for my Kindle Fire HD 8.9. I really love the way it turned out.
So now that I've caught the sewing bug what will my next adventure be???

ALTERED WOODEN PHOTO FRAME
Shame on me...it's been forever since I've posted anything on my blog. How time flies. I'm still scrapbooking and crafting. One thing that has slowed me down some is I got a Nook e-reader so I do spend some extra time reading now. I like surfing the net too for free e-books. I have gotten into making mini albums alot lately. I love watching the YouTube videos of everyone's mini albums. I get such inspiration from them. I'm drooling over all the new products that came out during this CHA. I can't wait to get my hands on some of Marion Smith's new Prima Line. I so wish I had a Local Scrapbook Store near me so I could actually look at new stuff. It's not the same looking at something online.
Anyway I've had 3 wooden photo frames for probably 2 or 3 years. I knew I wanted to alter them somehow just never really could decide how. Well last week I came across a blog that had a cheap and easy way to create crackle paint effect without using crackle paint but using white glue instead. So I decided that this technique would be perfect for my frames.
This is what I've come up with.

The other 2 frames I'm going to go primitive with them. Base coat brown and top coat antique white. I haven't started them yet. I will post pics whenever I get them finished.
I hope you have a scrap happy day!!! :)

MY NEWEST LAYOUT

I did this layout for a scraplift challenge in one of the groups I'm in on CafeMom. Ofcourse it has my favorite flowers on it...Prima!!! It's really girly and has alot of pink. I just love it. :)
I used two grungeboard florishes on here. I painted them white, then used crackle medium on them, then painted them pink. After all the crackling was over I painted over top of that with a glitter shine. I made the big pink flower beside of the picture. I used my heat gun on silk flower petals until they started to shrink and curl. Then layered them all together and put a brad through them and sprayed with Starburst Spray and some glimmer mist. I love the way it turned out. There was a casualty though. My heat gun burnt out. I was hoping it had just gotten too hot and after cooling would start back but sadly no. So I guess I have to go back to the Ranger heat gun until I can get to Hobby Lobby with a 40% off coupon. :(

I've been playing around with a wonderful product called Magical Mica's made by Linda's Stamp Gang. I made these cute 8 layer flowers then colored them with the mica's. I love the shimmer that the mica's give these cute flowers. Ofcourse pictures don't do the shimmer justice. You have to see it in person to truly experience that beautiful shimmer. I love this product.
